The Delaware River Basin Commission: A Classroom for the World

In 1961 President Kennedy and the governors of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York signed compact legislation establishing the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC), a regional body that would oversee a unified approach to managing a river system without regard to political boundaries. The passage of this compact signaled the first time that the federal government and a group of states joined together as equal partners in a river basin planning, development, and regulatory agency. Constructing Commercial Partnerships

For four weeks in May and June 2005, a delegation of construction industry personnel from Central Asia visited the United States as part of a group program sponsored by the Department of Commerce's Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) Program. NIH Awards Framework Programs

In October 2005, the Fogarty International Center (FIC), in partnership with the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), all components of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), announced 16 awards for a recently created funding initiative, "Framework Programs for Global Health."
